چکیده

Abstract The goal of this study is to develop a new effective guar gum-grafted acrylamide hydrogel for wastewater treatment, abbreviated as (guar gum-g-acrylamide). For the non-biodegradable and hazardous synthetic acid red 8, produced gum-g-acrylamide promising thermally stable adsorbent. Microwave-aided technique, ammonium persulfate initiator, N , ?-methylene-bis-acrylamide cross-linker are used make comprising natural polysaccharides gum grafted by poly acrylamide. Fourier transformer infrared (FTIR) spectra scanning electron microscopy (SEM) demonstrate that varied percentages successfully graft backbone gum. When grafting percentage raised, hydrogel’s maximum adsorption capacity (qe) increases. At pH 1 dye solution, 18 mg.g ?1 at 9; qe decreased up 8 . 0.5 g.L hydrogel, has low removal (34%), but when dosage increased increases 90%. initial AR8 concentration was from 50 300 mg.L reduced 20% adsorbed quantity 17 44 both parameters became limited above concentration. Other ideal conditions include 60 min contact time, 150 revolutions per minute (rpm), temperature 20 degrees Celsius. kinetic pseudo-second order, assuming electrostatic interaction between negatively charged molecules positively hydrogel-functional group. values fit Langmuir isotherm, with q max 54.054 decreases rises, indicating physisorbed on pores, °C. exothermic spontaneity were confirmed negative heat (? Synthesis, characterization and swelling behaviour of poly(acrylamide-co- methacrylic acid) grafted Gum ghatti based superabsorbent hydrogels

A mixture of acrylamide (AAm) and methacrylic acid (MAA) was crosslinked onto Gum ghatti (Gg) using N, N’-methylene-bis-acrylamide (MBA) as a crosslinker and ascorbic acid (ABC) and potassium persulphate (KPS) redox pair as an initiator. Optimized reaction parameters for the graft copolymerization of Gum ghatti with AAm were time (min)=90; temperature (C)=50; pH=7.0; deionized water (ml)=10; mo...

Development of an antibacterial superabsorbent hydrogel based on tara gum grafted with polyacrylic acid

Tel.: +86-451-8219-1693 An antimicrobial superabsorbent was prepared by grafting polyacrylic acid on tara gum and adding chitosan quaternary ammonium salt (2-NHydroxypropyl-3-trimethylammonium chloride chitosan, HTCC). The effect of the amount of HTCC on swelling ratio of the product was investigated. The product was characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, scanning elec...

BiOCl microflowers were synthesized using bismuth nitrate pentahydrate and sodium chloride by microwave (MW) assisted synthesis method for 23 minutes at 180 W. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) studies revealed a unique morphology of flower-like assemblies comprised of nanosheets. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern showed that a highly pure and crystalline phase has been obtained. The energy ...

Synthesis and characterization of acrylic acid grafted gum tragacanth and its effect in Fe2+ removal

In this paper, grafting of acrylic acid monomer on Gum tragacanth was performed. Variable of experiment included concentration of initiators and monomer, time, and temperature. Grafting efficiency was measured in the term of percentage of grafting (%G) and percentage of grafting efficiency (%E). Effectiveness of grafted gum in ferrous ion removal at different condition was assessed. According t...
